Liebster Award

3and3quarters-net_-1024x913

Never would I have thought that our blog would ever be nominated for an award. Being woken up by my boyfriend telling me that I have to check our blog email this morning took me by surprise since he usually takes care of it. There it was, an email from Renae McGill telling us that she had nominated our blog for the Liebster Award!

Since our blog is small, some days I wondered if anyone would ever come across it and if they did would they even like it. So it was a big surprise to us to get noticed from another blogger. It just goes to show that you shouldn’t give up what you enjoy doing because one day your hard work will pay off.

Since we’re being nominated, we have to answer a few questions about ourselves so here we go! =)

  • What made you start blogging?

Josh (boyfriend) was the one who had the idea for us to make a blog. He knew how much I was into photography and how I posted a lot on Instagram, he told me it would be nice to write how I felt while taking them and about the journey we had together. It’s sort of a diary blog I guess you can say, something we can look back on together. =)

  • Do we have a schedule for blogging? Certain days we post on the blog?

Sadly no, I would love to be able to post more but with school, work and being in a long distance relationship, it’s kinda hard being able to go on trips together. Normally we just post pictures of the adventures that we have together.

  • Do we have any pets?

Yes, we do! I have a Maltipoo named Fluffy and Josh has a Irish Setter named a Penny that we both love soo much.

  • If I had ONE extra ticket to my favorite band/musician concert, who would I take with me?

That’s an easy one! Of course, I would take my bf and if it were up to him he would take me. =)

  • When times get tough, how do you deal with stress?

I normally call Josh to talk it out, if not I’ll just listen to some music or watch some Netflix. If it’s something more that I just can’t handle I pray and turn to God.

  • Advice for new bloggers?

Never give up! No matter how hard things might get or if you feel like your blog is going nowhere, don’t stop posting. I know it might seem hard at first wondering if it’s even worth doing but just remember that you’re blogging for you and no one else. Blogging should be something that you enjoy doing for yourself and when the time is right everything else should fall into place.

Thank you so much Renae from the airforce sweetheart for nominating us it really means a lot. I definitely recommend everyone to check her out!

My questions for the nominees:

  • If you can have any super power what would it be and why?
  • When blogging, do you do other things? (listen to music, watch tv, ect.)
  • What’s one piece of advice someone given you?
  • If you where in a deserted island and can only take ONE person to be with you who would you take?
  • What’s one thing you can’t live without?
  • What’s a guilty pleasure of yours?
  • If you can live anywhere in the world where would it be?

Last but not least the nominees that we have chosen are…

Yellow’s The Word

Fayiza Farhana

LEXIESLIFEXO

The Air Force Sweetheart

Jasmine Creative

All of the blogs above are worth checking out! We love looking at other blogs and watching each other grow!

Thank you once again Renae for picking our blog! It means a lot for us since we never thought this would happen!

Etsy Shop?!

Hey Everyone, I have some exciting news to share with you all I decided to open an Etsy Store! It’s called The Goat Fetching Soap.

I’ve always had a creative side and one of the ways that I can show and share that creativity is with making handmade, all natural products. This is a big step for me, it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do but was always second guessed myself thinking of excuses on why I shouldn’t do it instead of being positive and thinking of all the reasons why I should. It was until I told myself that enough is enough. It’s time to take more risks and do what you enjoy. It can either work out or not, but at least I can say that I tried. =)

I would absolutely love it if you would head on over to my shop, check it out and show some love. I’ve been working really hard to make my dreams become a reality and I know that with hard work comes success.

#conquerhatewithlove

Hey everyone, as you all know there was a horrible shooting in a high school in Florida this month and just the thought of it brings me sadness. But through that sadness there must come strength, strength to do something about it. I had the opportunity to team up with an amazing girl named Noel. You all have to go and check out her blog. She started a campaign called #conquerhatewithlove it’s about the shooting so if you want to know more click here. She’s doing a giveaway and the way it works is that for every story people post on Instagram with the hashtag #conquerhatewithlove OR posting on her blog with a link to a blog post, they will get a chance to win a giveaway. So if you’d like to enter I suggest you head on over and read more about it. I have an Etsy shop for those of you who don’t know (post about it is coming soon) and one of my products will be up for the give away this week! It’s all for such a good cause and I hope you all join us and show some support.

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful week!

Dad's Cheesy Egg Sandwhich

Something that I will always remember from my childhood was my dad’s egg sandwiches. The way he made them were simply delicious. They’re quick and simple to make, and the great thing about them is that you don’t have to wait until breakfast to eat them, you can have them any time that you want.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 slices bacon (Diced)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 1-2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 slices of toasted bread (whichever is your favorite)
  • A handful of chopped onion
  • Optional: Canned of sliced Jalapenos

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and bacon, cook until brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Pop bread into the toaster.
  3. Add eggs to the skillet about 2-3 minutes; season with salt and pepper, to taste. And scramble all together.
  4. Place a slice of cheese over each slice of bread once it’s out of the toaster and set aside.
  5. To assemble the sandwiches, top one of the slices of bread with the scrambled eggs. and top it off with the other slice of bread.
  6. You can add the jalapenos in the sandwich or serve a side.
  7. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this recipe!

Breakfast Egg Mufin Sandwich

McDonalds Egg McMuffins is one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches out there. Just something about them are soo delicious. And let’s be real sometimes you don’t want to go out and wait some long line just for these bad boys so I decided to just make my own version of it at home. Let’s be honest we don’t know exactly what fast food companies put in there food so at least when you make them at home you know what you’re eating and best of all you can change it any way that you like.

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole wheat English muffins, toasted
  • 1 fried egg (I prefer just egg whites)
  • 2 slices of bacon (I prefer turkey bacon)
  • 1 slice of American cheese ( you can use any cheese that you like)
  • optional: salsa or guacamole

Directions:

  1. Pop the muffins into the toaster while you fry the egg and bacon.
  2. To assemble, Lay the slice of cheese on top of the bottom layer of the muffin, on top of that lay the egg then bacon, top guacamole or fresh salsa if you decide to use.
  3. Finish it off with the other half of the muffin and Enjoy!

Hope you all enjoy and See you next week.

Detox Water Recipes

I don’t know about you but I love me some detox water. I’ve always loved drinking water it’s my favorite drink but I know that for some it might be hard to drink a certain amount daily. That’s why I feel like detox waters are great, not only are you getting your daily water intake (everyone should be drinking plenty of water throughout the day not only to keep hydrated but water is just overall amazing for your body) they give the water some good natural flavor. So I’m gonna share a few of my favorite water recipes.

Fresh Lemon and Cucumber Detox

  • 1 sliced lemon
  • 10-15 slices of cucumber
  • Ice
  • Water

Water-Melons Detox

  • 3-5 Watermelon slices
  • 3-5 Honeydew slices
  • 3-5 Cantaloupe slices
  • Ice
  • Water

Ruby lemon Detox

  • 3-5 grapefruit slices
  • 1 sliced lemon
  • Ice
  • Water

Mangolicious Detox

  • 3-5 grapefruit slices
  • 1 cup of mango chunks
  • Ice
  • Water

*Ingredient measurements may vary based on the size of your water bottle so make your best judgment on the amount that will fit in your bottle.

All you have to do is add all the ingredients to a bottle like this Fruit Infuser Water Bottle and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour. The longer you let it sit the stronger the taste, I personally like letting it sit for about 4 hours when I’m in a hurry. Otherwise, I like to make it the night before.

Hope you all enjoy the detox waters, until next time.

New Year. New You.

It’s January, so it’s that time of year when you get to have a fresh clean slate and start something new.

This year I’m on a journey to become a better me. A healthier me. A NEW me.

I know what it feels like, feeling stuck, sometimes sluggish and not liking the way clothes fits you. So why not finally do something about it?!

Remember it’s not about the number on the scale, it’s about feeling stronger, confident and being a healthier person.

I decided that every week from now on I’ll be posting either a food recipe, detox recipe, workouts or anything that I’m doing that’s health-related. So if you want to follow me on this journey that would be awesome and see if maybe some of the things I do and eat could maybe help you on your own journey as well.

In order to give you an idea of what I’m going for I answered some questions that a few of you might have for me. Of course, if you have more feel free to ask me in the comments below.

  • So what is my goal weight?

The truth is I don’t have one.

The number on the scale doesn’t define who I am as a person it’s just a number.

  • Why are you doing this?

I’m doing this because I want to live a better health style, I want to feel good about myself and what I’m putting into my body.

  • How do you feel about cheat days?

Cheat days are a yes and no for me. I like them because of course, you get to eat whatever you want. On the downside, I don’t like them because you tend to eat so bad on those days that it sort-of defeats the purpose of trying to eat healthier.

I don’t want to eat healthier just to look good for a certain amount of time. I want to change my overall eating habits for good. This isn’t just a temporary thing for me.

  • How are you going to deal with cravings?

I’m Hispanic, so let me tell you that I love to eat. My favorite meal is tacos. I absolutely love chocolate. And my favorite snacks are chips. All those things are not healthy whatsoever but since they are my favorite things to eat of course I’m going to crave them. Does that mean that I’m going to stop eating them? Absolutely not. If I want tacos one day I’m gonna eat them, if I’m craving chips you bet I’m going to have some. I’m not going to completely stop eating the things that I enjoy to eat just because I want to eat healthier. What I will do is control my portions size. Eat the things that I know aren’t the healthiest in moderation.

  • Is this a diet?

Nope. Not at all. I don’t do diets. Diets restrict you from eating the things you enjoy. Most of the foods are, let’s be honest not the best tasting. That’s why I feel like a lot of people break them because it’s difficult to give up the things that you like to eat.

What I want to do is try more healthier food options and incorporate the ones that I like into my daily meal plans. So I can actually enjoy what I eat everyday.

If you decide that you do in fact want to change the way you’re eating and want to see how your progress is going something I recommend is NOT to weigh yourself everyday.

Weighing yourself every day at different times of the day just isn’t going to help you, as your weight can fluctuate up and causing you to get discourage and make you want to quit right then and there. So please stay away from the scale until it’s time.

Now, When you do weigh yourself and don’t notice a change or if you even gained some weight don’t get discouraged, you’re still losing inches, you’re still feeling more energetic, you’re eating healthier and you’re still not giving up!

There are other ways to measure your progress other than using a scale.

1) Body Measurements. Using a tape measurer, you can take your body measurements every Monday, which is also the day that I prefer to weigh myself since it’s the beginning of the week, and I can keep track of my progress.

2) Photos. Sometimes, what the scale doesn’t tell you a photo will, you can still see progress by taking weekly progress photos. All you have to do is take a photo of yourself using your phone from the front, both sides, and the back. (Standing in front of a mirror can help)

If you’re doing things right nutritionally and fitness wise, you should see some progress in your photos.

3) Try on clothes that you normally wear. Does it fit looser or tighter?

If it’s looser you’re on the right track.

4) finally, Ask yourself, ‘How do I feel?’ on your Weigh In Date (Monday).

If you feel better then you know that you’re doing the right things for your body, and you should care less about what some number on the scale says.

Overall, If you look and feel better, that’s all that really matters. Everything else shouldn’t define you or your journey. Remember, don’t be hard on yourself, instead be happy and proud of yourself that you’re taking the steps to live a better healthier lifestyle.

Never give up and good things will happen!

Have a wonderful week get ready to see new posts.
